Banished To The Green Space

Whether you’re smoking a Montecristo, Cohiba or Romeo, chances are, if you live in North America or many parts of Europe, you’re probably sitting outdoors not too far from anything green…. We cigar smokers are finding ourselves farther and farther away from anyone else when we light up and non-smoker’s rights seem to be getting stronger and stronger…. I really feel that they have a good point and don’t need to be subjected to cigarette and cigar smoke if thy don’t want to be….. I feel that there should be more areas where smokers can relax, have a cigar and buy beverages and drink them within the confines of a drinking establishment with separate smoking areas… But here we sit, or stand, away from open doorways and as time goes by, we are getting closer to greener and greener locations, by trees, grass, etc…. Maybe thats not a really bad thing. I love grass, birds and all kinds of wildlife.. The only enemy my cigar has is the WIND !!!!

I noticed your recent No. 4 kick.
I live in the U.S. and typically smoke the Monte No. 4 and the Especial No. 2…
I noticed online that the No 4 is traditionally 5 1/8 x 42 yet over here I can only find the No. 4 as 4 x 44….The Especial No. 2 is supposed to be 6 x 38 yet it comes only in 5 x 40….
Do you know why this is so? And is there anyway I can smoke the true size?
I agree that people shouldn’t be subjected to smoke if they don’t want to. Unfortunately the trend seems to be to ban smoking in ALL public areas, including outdoor ones.
A loss of a smoking area that hits me the hardest is the small smoking rooms that used to exist at airports….. In Canada there was always a tiny room where people could puff away and NO ONE who didn’t smoke ever went in there. They were nicely situated by the gates and you could have a smoke just before taking off or just when you land…. Alas… Thanks for the comment!
Hey Dino, Thanks for the comment
I feel that you are finding cigars that may not be Cuban Montes… I just did a quick search on line and in all cases out of Cuba the Monte 4 is 5 inches with a 42 inch ring gauge……..
The Especial No. 2 is usually 5.9 or 6 X 38… Period…. That is for CUBAN Montes..
You can find true and authentic cuban cigars on line but be careful where you get them… If the deal is too good to be true then you will end up with Banana leaf cigars….. ( on a good day )
