Wow, nice work Plato...... I DID see your comment on FOH, which I believe is a fantastic cigar site and a great resource for any cigar enthusiast... I initially felt for you when you commented on the types of people who seem to rub it in... You know what I'm talking about.... They drive me crazy and I want to walk over and remind them that all we're doing is having a cigar, its not a statement of any other kind and there's no need to be ostentatious but these kind of guys seem to need to adopt a peacock attitude about almost everything in their lives.... Believe me, they drive me nuts....

At a cigar party in Vancouver a few weeks ago I observed many guys approaching cigars in many different ways. A gathering of cigar enthusiasts is a wonderful place to study the different habits of the various individuals as they try to make their own statement. Some smokers were smoking cigars with removed bands while others were seeing how many cigars they could smoke in record time as they puffed with flames bright enough to light up the whole patio.... What a sad waste of a quality Cuban cigar, why introduce totally needless gasses into your cigar with overheated cherries?? This is what prompted me to take a step back and remind myself that " It takes all kinds"...

Thanks you very much for the comment, I feel honored that someone who belongs to FOH has noticed my little blog.

Yes, we Canadians ARE very lucky to have access to Cuban cigars, I love them like nothing else and the history behind Cuba and it's cigars is unique in the cigar world. Then...... You go to Cuba, smoke cigars there and meet the Cuban people, see Havana, listen to the music and drink their rum and its all over....There will be no way you can ever forget a country like that and how smoking a cigar tastes when you are there. All that being said, I want to stress that there are FANTASTIC cigars from other nations and I believe that a trip to the Dominican would do the same to me in all respects. The Arturo Fuente Opus X is a cigar that blows me away, just to use one example, I love that cigar as much as any Cuban...

Lol...yes in Canada we are very fortunate to have access to Cuban cigars. That being said, I think there are definitely good quality cigars from other countries nowadays as well. But the mystic of the Cuban cigar will never fade as long as they continue to bring quality goods to market!

The Choix supreme is one of my favorite cigars. Hands down my favorite morning coffee cigar. A light bodied & graceful cigar that is packed with flavor. Perfection.

Smoke one in 6 months and smoke one a year from now.... It will be interesting to see what 6 months and then a year's aging will do to them ...I was at the party at the golf course where he was rolling cigars and people loved them... At the end of the night I went over to his table, he was outside smoking a cigar, I wondered about the aroma from the discarded stems and small leaf bits so I grabbed a handful and put them to my nose.... It was an incredible smell, I'm sure that you're going to love the cigars he rolled..

Thanks for the comment Chris!

Hamlet was in vancouver a couple of weeks ago and rolled me 2 very nice looking robusto extras! i was going to smoke one that evening and save one for a year or so, but it was cold outside so i did not light one up. I put them in my humidor and will let them sit for at least 6 months or maybe a year before enjoying one.
