Cuban Montecristo Cigars, The REAL Thing!
Mar 29th, 2010 by Admin
I just finished smoking a rather expensive Non-Cuban cigar that really doesn’t need to be named at this point in time.. Which cigar it was doesn’t matter right now, but what matters is all of the thoughts going through my head as I was smoking it. First I need to mention what I kept hearing in my head as I remembered people telling me about Cuban cigars compared to non-Cubans…I’ve had people tell me that Cuban cigars are over rated, over priced and whose quality has dropped in this last little while compared to what they have smoked out of Cuba years ago… This kind of attitude floors me and I believe that maybe they really HAVEN’T been smoking Cubans and certainly NOTHING from Montecristo… In my opinion, Montecristo embodies all that is consistent and traditional with Cuban cigars and Montecristo is packed with flavors that have been associated with some of the finest cigars in the World!!!! At best, and I repeat at best, I see glimpses of what people see in Non-Cubans in that, yes, there is a good tobacco taste or maybe a vivid and clear dark chocolate present…BUT…… When I put a Monte in my hands and get hit with all of the complexity that these cigars have to offer, I’m sorry, but NOTHING COMPARES !!!!!!!!! I am humbled with the fact that NOTHING has changed in the Cuban Production of their tobacco. NO additives, no alterations of the way cigars are rolled other than maybe improvements, as years go by. Try a Montecristo first and THEN judge all others!!!!!!!!
