Montecristo Cigars

       In my opinion, a sleeper is something that will surprise you when you least expect it, like a hit series, song or book that races up to the top of the best sellers list.  A sleeper could be a person playing in your soft-ball league that is slow to start and then becomes the biggest hitter on your team or a mousy unassuming young woman you ask out on a date only to find that after a few glasses of wine, wants to go to a bar and get into a physical altercation with the guys over at the pool table. Sleepers can be a lot of trouble, a lot of fun and are never NEVER boring!

This is where the Monte 5 comes into the story.  This little perla which is 4 inches long with a 40 ring gauge is a great example of the ultimate sleeper…. If you want half an hour of excitement try one of these after lunch on your way back to work. There is a predominant nutty flavor coupled with an ever present taste of cedar which some could find slightly bitter, but once again, its all in how quick you choose to smoke it.  By taking your time and allowing the flame to cool you’ll be able to reap some of the finest flavors that Montecristo originally intended you to have.  Now let’s get to the nicotine part of the story.  This little guy can pack a mighty punch in that department but, as always, the longer you can leave it rest in your humidor the sweeter and mellower time you’ll have when you light it. Pairing this one with a port has always been a wonderful combination. Pick up a box, let them rest for a while and wake up one of these little sleepers!
