Montecristo And The Online Scams…
Feb 12th, 2010 by Admin
For the last couple of days I’ve been writing back and forth with people coming back from Cuba and selling cigars they’ve brought back into Canada. I’m not against buying anything at a good price but I’m seeing the same kind of ad appear over and over on….well I don’t want to say it, but it rhymes with “Traigslist”……… Here is how the ad usually starts…………. Just got back from Cuba and bought too many cigars and are willing to sell a box of Monte Cristo ( thats the part that I like…… the 2 word Monte ) No. 2 for $140………….. Aaaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh !!!!!!!!!!! First of all, it would cost you over $200 CDN if you picked them up in a government store……… Then you’d have to carry them back into Canada, go through customs, place an ad online and then go through the hassle of people either trying to grind down your price over the phone or in person……. And for what?????? So you can lose money in the end?????? What’s wrong with you?????? Are you lonely????? Are you such a great person that you want to help complete strangers by taking part in international trade at a loss?????? Let me tell you how how it all started………….. You met THIS guy !!!!!!!
There’s no point in denying it, he was loitering in the shadows one night by the dumpster out back at your all inclusive resort in Veradero and told you that his brother works at a factory rolling Montecristo cigars and he can get you a box of 25 cigars for 30 bucks!!!!!! Real thing…… Guaranteed…….. Swear to God….So you think, ” Here’s my chance to make a few bucks when I get back home!!!”….. You know nothing about government seals.. You know nothing about the factory code and date stamped on the bottom of the box… And hologram?? What’s a hologram????? ………………. Want to know what happens next????? Some nice woman buys these from you and gives them to her father on his birthday….. She thinks she’s doing something great and the poor guy opens up a box of beautifully rolled garden clippings and banana leaves…….. Maybe someone will read this rant and think twice before bringing back terrible, horrible tasting cigars and trying to pass them off at a cheap price……. Everybody loses except the slimy flea bitten dog who sold them to you in the first place……… BUY CIGARS FROM A GOVERNMENT STORE, AND EVEN THEN, DO A BIT OF RESEARCH BEFORE YOU DO BECAUSE COUNTERFEIT CIGARS IN CUBA ARE EVERYWHERE !!!!!!!!!
