Montecristo Double Corona LE 2001 review
Aug 29th, 2008 by Admin

Ladies and gentleman, here is my new favorite Double Corona (It use to be the Ramon Allones Gigantes). The Montecristo Double Coronoa LE 2001 is nothing short of an oustanding Cuban cigar. For most people who don’t know, the double corona size is fairly long (A little bit over 7 inches), so if you like long cigars (Churchill size), I guarantee this cigar would be a new favorite. The trouble is, these cigars have been off the market for over 6 years, so they are very hard to find. I was lucky and a family member stopped smoking and sold me a box that he had been aging perfectly.
The Montecristo Double Corona LE 2001 is definitely one of the most ‘full bodied’ Cuban cigars I’ve had. I tasted so much chocolate I thought I was smoking nutella! Well maybe that is stretching it a bit but my god the choclate / earthy flavors are a true delight for anyone’s palette.
I still have about 24 left and guess what I’m going to do? Age them even more! Yes these cigars have definitely benefitted from age and I know they’ll just get better with a few more years. I can’t wait. I’ll write another review after three years and tell you exactly how they taste like after you age them for a few years. Super excited about the Montecristo Double Corona LE 2001.
