What Wood You Do ?

So here I sit with a few bucks extra in the bank and my parents are going to Cuba next week. I have a busy schedule and can’t take the time off to join them but they were wondering if I wanted them to pick up a few cigars for me… A few???? Only a few????? Hmmmmmm, yeah maybe!!!! OF COURSE I WANT THEM TO PICK UP A FEW BOXES…. But what cigars do I want them to get…. I got on the phone last night and had a talk with my mother about the dangers of buying cigars on the street, the beach or from anyone other than a government store, so I think I’ll be OK as far as getting the real thing.. My only decision now is to choose my size and brand… Having a bit of difficulty here since the choices are great but maybe if they could find some limited edition Montes or something with some age ( I also told her about checking the date and factory code stamped on the bottom of the box)…… What would you pick??

One thing you should ask them to get is a box of 25 Montecristo No 2′s! An absolutely fantastic cigar! And maybe some Cohiba Robustos?
Also, you might consider asking them to get some cigars hand rolled before their eyes, so that you can smoke some freshly rolled cigars as soon as they get back – apparently they are quite nice. Even if they dont’t turn out to be as good as aged one, it could still be worth a try. After all, pretty much the whole cigar culture is based on exploration and trying new things!
Keep up the great blog!
Peter.
Thanks for the kind words Peter..
Funny you would mention the Monte No. 2′s because I just smoked my last one…. OK then, done and done…….
Now to the Robustos from Cohiba.. I love that cigar and the prices in Havana are 1/3 of what we pay up here….
Both stellar suggestions!!!!
Thanks!
Enjoy the cigars!
